"Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works ... Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth." (Psalm 105:2-5)
Often God places a tune or words in my heart for a song. Reading through the Psalms has really spurred this on too. I've completed one song, but as for the others, the only thing that I have are a few lines or a tune. The thought came to me that these songs are for sharing and are not for me alone. So, I had an idea that I've been reflecting on for a while that seems different and cool. What if we made worship music together?
I'm still going to use this blog to write and reflect on my study time, but I'd like to also honor the ideas God gives me by sharing them in this space and asking us to collaboratively work together on the songs. Here's what I propose: I will offer lyrics or tunes, or a combination of both on the blog and you in turn will submit additional verses or tunes, or a combination of both in your comments. It would be awesome to worship God together like this, from my heart to yours, from our hearts to Gods!
I know that when it comes to the heart, that means vulnerability. So, I'll be vulnerable first. 😄
Here is a tune that entered my heart a couple weeks ago. ♬You know my name♬ (Hear clip below.)
I've tried to think of words beyond the ones below, but it would not come. That's what got me to thinking that maybe the words are not made for me to create alone. Help me build this psalm of praise!

When I'm looking up at the clear blue sky
And I wish I had wings to fly, up high to You
Your voice lets me know,
You know my name
When I'm troubled by the deep blue sea
And my heart and soul agree, to call on You
Your voice lets me know,
You know my name
That's all I got so far. I'd love to read your thoughts!
Your almighty name!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Already preparing something to add that in. How awesome! Just that simple reminder about God knowing my name, reminds me to look at His Almighty name!
