Oh Grace! My Comforter!

 Sometimes you just need to sit alone outside and have a sit down with Jesus. I was able to rest outside this morning and came across a song I wrote months ago. I recorded it again and jotted it down here, because I don’t want to lose these songs and the joy it gives me to praise Him in my little corner. It’s titled Oh Grace! My Comforter!, and the song link is in the title. Getting to join the songbirds outside on a beautiful morning is just a little example of grace itself! I hope God places a song on your heart today too. Oh Grace! My Comforter! My soul cries out to You (3x) Oh— grace He will pick me up and hold my hand He will lift me when I cannot stand From fear, He’s always near He will hear my deepest longing cry He will speak the words of peace When I’m too tired, too tired to try The Lord has been a comfort to me Jesus has been a comfort to me My God You’ve been a comfort to me He will let me rest in His embrace He will wrap me in the warmth of  His strong arms, to k...

Cast My Cares On You

 Tonight I spent some time with my prayer group discussing what it means to "cast our cares" on Jesus. How do we let him carry our burdens? Do we actually do it, or do we pick them back up? It was a thought-provoking question that reminded me of reading through my old journals and seeing how I laid my frustrations and fears out on the pages. It is amazing, to look back and see how God had taken care of my burdens. I had a wonderful conversation with my mother this past weekend about how God makes you strong enough to endure your experiences and how what we see as "evil"/"negative" in our lives, can be important for our growth, for our breakthrough, and as my pastor says - important medicine for someone else's needs. These thoughts led me to write and record a song talking about allowing God to bring you through life's difficulties, even though it's natural to want to rush past the process. I've shared it here and hope you enjoy it. (Link is...

Satisfy My Heart

Here’s a song that’s been through many evolutions and iterations in my mind and on paper. After worshipping and reflecting on this song, hearing the melody of the saxophone, and the voices from a chorus playing this song in my heart- I realized it didn’t need any other special words. The simplicity says everything. Haven’t recorded it, but drafted it to share. Satisfy My Heart   Verse Lord please come and satisfy my heart Satisfy my heart Lord please come and satisfy my heart Satisfy my heart {repeat} Refrain Lord please come and satisfy my heart (Like the dew in the morning) Satisfy my heart (Let Your Spirit renew me) Lord please come and satisfy my heart (Like the cool in the evening) Satisfy my heart (Let Your Spirit refresh me) {repeat}

Power of the Lord

After Thanksgiving dinner I escaped for some quiet time and reflected on a song I dreamt about a few months ago. In this dream I or someone else (you know how dreams can be funny and confusing) was singing a song that said, "The power of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and their enemies fall down".  It ended with a series of repeated hallelujahs. When I woke up I wrote the words down and realized that those words are basically from Proverbs 18:10 . I was already in an inspired mindset after writing yesterday's song, so I asked God to help me put words to what he's allowed me to hear. Today, I remembered a dream from months, or even a few years ago, that was completely awesome. I dreamt that I was either in or watching a heavenly choir sing to Jesus. All they said was, "Sing Hallelujah, to the Lamb," but it was the way the sang it and the harmony that they used that made the song so moving. I could never forget this memory! I sat ...

Washed my Robe

Today I opened my Bible app to find a chapter to read. There was a lot of friend activity and I was drawn to a verse highlighted by my brother-in-law. I turned to Revelation‬ ‭22 where it read: Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations...  Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life. ( Revelation 22:1-2, 14 ) I looked at these verses and thought - there is a song here! So, I decided to write it. Here are the words to this song I named, "Washed my Robe". Washed My Robe   Verse 1 Here I carry my robe Dirty with holes I heard of this river Clear as cry...

Your Covering

Here's another song that I've created. I had technical difficulties with the sound and volume, but as I've said before, I'm no professional. So please take me as I am, and this song too! 😅 Below are the lyrics for "Your Covering". I hope you enjoy it! --> Your Covering Chorus 1 I don’t need a miracle, just to know I’m loved I just need to feel your shadow covering me I don’t need a marvelous message in the stars I just need to feel your spirit covering me Chorus 2 Singing hallelujah when my heart is breaking Singing hallelujah when my soul is hurting Offering my praise you will bring me through it Offering my praise you are still deserving Vamp You cover me, cover me, cover me (4x) Verse 1 Lover of my life, Lover of my soul To you I bring my burdens, The heaviness I hold I open up my hands I open up my heart You are the only way to make me whole Chorus 2 Vamp Verse 2 You see every moment, You see each fear I...
