Hope

How do you find hope when hoping hurts? What do you do when your heart is heavy from the burden of disappointment after being filled with so much unabashed trust? Today was a very hard day for me so I read a few Psalms that were next in my line up - Psalm 146 and 147. Here are the verses that stood out to me:

While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help...
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God.
Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely...
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds... Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

So what do you do? We keep hoping. We keep trusting. We cry our tears, share our burdens, and do the next hard thing - find a way to praise God still.

Today, I worked on another song that was placed on my heart, as singing is my way of soothing my heart while praising God. I only have the chorus complete and I'm trying to think outside the box with this one. If God puts something on your heart to add lyrically - let me know in your comments! Also, here's a link to one of the first songs that God gave me. It ministers so much to my heart and I hope it does the same for you too. Keep seeking God and don't give up when the going gets tough. God is faithful and will be true to his Word. He will heal us, feed us, clothe us and help us. It may not be today, but stay faithful with your praises. His help will come, and in the meantime, his peace is here right now.

The Expanse

I participated in a Zoom prayer call tonight with other women at my church and at the end I just had that feeling of loveliness. It felt good, it felt connected, and it made me want to connect with God even more. Crazy in Love!

Jesus did the craziest thing to show love- He died for us And Who’s plan was it for Jesus to do that? God! The God who we think is unreachable, unattainable, mad and tired of our unfaithfulness  God knew it would take doing something crazy to bring us back to Him. God wants us.  Don’t be fooled- God has always wanted us. It’s us who always find a way to push God away.  Ex: Israelites wanting Moses to talk to God instead of facing God directly Ex: Israelites wanting a king instead of a prophet Us: whenever we rest on a prophet or minister to do the work of going to God for us, without us reaching to God directly. Insignificance: Parable of the Lost Son

Hello! Women's Prayer Call Series: Parable of the Lost Son Today I want to share my thoughts on the parable of the lost son which is found in Luke 15 verses 11 through 32.
